About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Process Development Engineer to lead critical development initiatives for their advanced manufacturing facility in Plymouth . This role is central to driving innovation, scaling up new chemical processes, and optimizing existing production lines for enhanced efficiency and sustainability. You will be responsible for translating laboratory findings into robust, industrial-scale operations, working closely with R&D, operations, and engineering teams. This is a key position for an engineer passionate about bringing new technologies to life and making a tangible impact on manufacturing excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and scale-up of new chemical processes from pilot to commercial scale.
- Optimize existing manufacturing processes for improved yield, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct detailed process design, hazard analysis, and risk assessments.
- Develop and execute experimental plans for process validation and troubleshooting.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including process flow diagrams (PFDs) and P&IDs.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of process engineers and technicians.
Requirements
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in process development, scale-up, and optimization within the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
- Expertise in process design, reaction engineering, and separation technologies.
- Proficiency with process simulation software and statistical analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of cGMP principles and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent project management and leadership skills.
