Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Development Engineer to join their innovative team in Plymouth . This role is pivotal in designing, optimizing, and scaling up complex manufacturing processes for novel products. You will bridge the gap between R&D and full-scale production, ensuring that processes are efficient, safe, and economically viable. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and optimization of manufacturing processes from laboratory scale to pilot and commercial production.
- Design experiments to identify critical process parameters and establish operating ranges.
- Develop robust process control strategies and ensure successful technology transfer to manufacturing sites.
- Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement safety improvements.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions to improve yield and quality.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, engineering, and operations teams to achieve project objectives.
Requirements
- B.Eng. or M.Eng. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in process development and scale-up within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, reaction engineering, and separation technologies.
- Proven experience in process modeling, simulation, and statistical analysis (DOE).
- Familiarity with process safety management (PSM) and hazard analysis techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
