Senior Process Development Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Process Development Engineer to join their innovative research and development team in Reading . This role focuses on conceptualizing, developing, and scaling up new chemical processes from laboratory to pilot and commercial scale. You will play a key role in driving innovation, optimizing process designs, and ensuring the technical feasibility of new product introductions. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and optimization of new chemical processes, from bench-scale to pilot and commercial scale.
• Design and conduct experiments to validate process parameters and improve efficiency.
• Utilize process simulation and modeling tools to predict process performance and identify risks.
• Develop detailed process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless technology transfer.
• Ensure all process development activities adhere to safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related scientific field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in process development, scale-up, and technology transfer.
• Proven ability to design and execute experimental programs effectively.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD).
• Strong understanding of reaction engineering, separation processes, and process safety.
• Excellent technical writing, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
