About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Process Development Engineer to join their innovative research and development team in Reading . This role focuses on conceptualizing, developing, and scaling up new chemical processes from laboratory to pilot and commercial scale. You will play a key role in driving innovation, optimizing process designs, and ensuring the technical feasibility of new product introductions. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an engineer passionate about bringing novel chemical technologies to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and optimization of new chemical processes, from bench-scale to pilot and commercial scale.
- Design and conduct experiments to validate process parameters and improve efficiency.
- Utilize process simulation and modeling tools to predict process performance and identify risks.
- Develop detailed process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
- Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless technology transfer.
- Ensure all process development activities adhere to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related scientific field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in process development, scale-up, and technology transfer.
- Proven ability to design and execute experimental programs effectively.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD).
- Strong understanding of reaction engineering, separation processes, and process safety.
- Excellent technical writing, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
