Senior Process Development Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Process Development Engineer to join their innovative research and development team in Reading . This role is central to advancing their product lines through the design, optimization, and scale-up of chemical processes. You will collaborate closely with R&D scientists and other engineers to translate laboratory discoveries into viable commercial manufacturing solutions. The position demands a blend of theoretical knowledge, practical application, and a commitment to driving innovation within the chemical industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and scale-up of new chemical processes from lab to pilot and commercial scale.
• Design and execute experiments to optimize process parameters, improve yield, and reduce costs.
• Utilize process simulation and modeling tools to predict and analyze process performance.
• Conduct feasibility studies and techno-economic assessments for new process routes.
• Prepare detailed process design packages, including P&IDs and equipment specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges encountered during process development and implementation.

Requirements

• MEng or equivalent in Chemical Engineering .
• 7+ years of experience in process development, scale-up, and optimization.
• Proven expertise in areas such as reaction engineering, separations, or crystallization.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus).
• Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable presenting to technical and management audiences.
