About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Development Scientist to join their dynamic R&D team in Wolverhampton . This role is critical for optimizing and scaling up manufacturing processes for novel chemical compounds. You will apply your scientific expertise to troubleshoot existing processes, develop new methodologies, and ensure efficient, cost-effective production. Key Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and optimize chemical synthesis processes for pilot-scale and manufacturing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during process development and scale-up.
- Develop and implement robust analytical methods for process monitoring and quality control.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to facilitate smooth technology transfer.
- Prepare detailed process development reports, documentation, and presentations.
Requirements
- PhD or MSc in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process development and optimization within the chemical industry.
- Strong understanding of chemical synthesis, reaction kinetics, and scale-up principles.
- Hands-on experience with process analytical technology (PAT) and statistical process control (SPC) is a plus.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and pilot plant operations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong project management capabilities.
