About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Process Development Scientist to join their innovative R&D team in Reading . This critical role will focus on optimizing and scaling up manufacturing processes for novel chemical compounds and materials. You will lead projects aimed at improving process efficiency, yield, and quality, ensuring smooth transition from laboratory to pilot scale. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to significant advancements in process technology within a dynamic, hybrid working environment based in Reading .
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and optimization of chemical manufacturing processes.
- Scale up laboratory processes to pilot and commercial scale, identifying and mitigating risks.
- Develop and implement robust process control strategies to ensure consistent product quality.
- Conduct process hazard analyses and implement necessary safety measures.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure successful process transfer.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during process scale-up and production.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process development or chemical engineering within the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong understanding of reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and mass transfer principles.
- Experience with process modeling and simulation software is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage projects and lead cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
