Senior Process Development Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Development Scientist to enhance their manufacturing and production capabilities in Sheffield . This role is crucial for developing, optimizing, and scaling up chemical processes to ensure efficient and robust manufacturing of key products. You will work within a collaborative environment, bridging the gap between research and full-scale production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical engineering or process chemistry, with a proven ability to implement process improvements and ensure high-quality output from our Sheffield -based operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to optimize chemical reaction parameters, improve yields, and reduce costs.
• Develop scalable and robust manufacturing processes, considering safety, environmental impact, and regulatory compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during process development and scale-up.
• Conduct process hazard analyses and implement necessary safety protocols.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth technology transfer from laboratory to plant scale.
• Generate comprehensive documentation, including process descriptions, validation reports, and batch records.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process development or chemical manufacturing within the pharmaceutical, chemical, or biotech industries.
• Strong understanding of reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and process scale-up principles.
• Experience with process safety assessments and hazard identification.
• Proficiency in using process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
