About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join their team in Liverpool . This role is central to designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting the complex chemical processes involved in energy production and refining. You will apply your expertise in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and chemical reaction engineering to ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operations. The successful candidate will lead process design initiatives, manage technical projects, and provide critical engineering support across various plant operations. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Conduct process simulations and modeling using software such as Aspen HYSYS or PRO/II.
- Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Perform process hazard analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP studies.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions to improve process performance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior process engineers and plant personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering , preferably within the chemical or energy industry.
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics , fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and mass transfer.
- Proficiency with process simulation software and engineering design tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
