About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly capable Senior Process Engineer to join their esteemed engineering team in Reading . This role is critical for the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of complex process systems within the Oil & Gas sector. You will be involved in FEED (Front-End Engineering Design), detailed design, and providing operational support for various projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mind, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and chemical engineering principles applied to upstream and downstream operations.

Key Responsibilities

Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
Perform process simulations and calculations using industry-standard software.
Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP studies.
Specify process equipment, including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and separators.
Provide technical support during the construction, commissioning, and start-up phases of projects.
Troubleshoot operational issues and propose solutions to improve process efficiency and reliability in Reading .

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in process engineering within the Oil & Gas industry .
Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus).
Strong knowledge of process safety principles and applicable industry codes and standards.
Experience in both greenfield and brownfield projects.
Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively on-site in Reading .
