Senior Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Senior Process Engineer to join their expanding operations in Cardiff . This role is central to the design, optimisation, and troubleshooting of chemical and physical processes within their facilities. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance of our operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong theoretical understanding combined with practical experience in process engineering, particularly within the demanding Oil & Gas industry. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and scale up chemical processes and equipment.
• Analyse process data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, yield, and energy consumption.
• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement safety recommendations.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and P&IDs.
• Troubleshoot process upsets and implement corrective actions.
• Provide technical support for process commissioning and start-up activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in Process Engineering , preferably in the Oil & Gas sector.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II).
• Solid understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and mass transfer principles.
• Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and HAZOP studies.
