Senior Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Engineer to join their team in Derby . This role is central to developing, optimizing, and controlling complex manufacturing processes to ensure product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You will lead projects that involve process design, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement, working closely with production, R&D, and quality teams. This is a significant opportunity for a seasoned engineer to make a substantial impact on operational performance and contribute to strategic process development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of new manufacturing processes and the optimization of existing ones.
• Troubleshoot process-related issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including P&IDs, SOPs, and control strategies.
• Conduct process capability studies and implement statistical process control (SPC) measures.
• Collaborate with R&D to scale up new products and processes from laboratory to full production.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on process engineering matters in Derby .

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proven expertise in process design, scale-up, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement .
• Strong knowledge of chemical or mechanical processes and thermodynamics.
• Experience with process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
