About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Engineer to join their established manufacturing facility in Wolverhampton . This role is critical for ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of their chemical processing operations. You will be responsible for overseeing process improvements, troubleshooting complex operational issues, and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in process design, optimization, and scale-up, contributing significantly to the operational success of the company in the West Midlands .
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of chemical processes to improve yield, reduce costs, and enhance safety.
- Develop and maintain Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Conduct detailed technical investigations into process deviations and equipment failures, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
- Oversee process scale-up activities from pilot to commercial production, ensuring successful and safe transitions.
- Provide technical expertise and support to operations, maintenance, and project teams.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their technical development and career growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering .
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
- Strong understanding of process control, instrumentation, and safety systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to manage projects and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
