About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Senior Process Engineer to join their dynamic, fully remote team. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in developing, optimizing, and scaling chemical processes from conception through to industrial application. You will leverage your deep understanding of chemical engineering principles to drive efficiency, safety, and sustainability in all process designs. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, simulation, and optimization of complex chemical processes, ensuring compliance with all relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance yield, reduce waste, and lower operational costs across various projects.
- Conduct rigorous process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement necessary safety controls to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, operations, and project management, to ensure seamless project execution from pilot to full-scale production.
- Create detailed process documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and operating procedures.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on process design and troubleshooting, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing within the remote team.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in process design, scale-up, and optimization within the chemical industry.
- Proven expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and CAD tools .
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics , fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer, and reaction engineering.
- Experience with international safety standards and environmental regulations pertinent to chemical processing.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively in a distributed, remote setting.
