Senior Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Process Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere within the UK. You will play a critical role in designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex chemical processes, focusing on safety, efficiency, and sustainability. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of new chemical processes, from conceptualization through to detailed engineering, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
• Optimize existing plant operations to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality, utilizing advanced simulation and modelling tools.
• Conduct thorough process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement mitigation strategies to ensure operational safety and risk reduction.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative remote working culture.
• Troubleshoot process deviations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to maintain operational stability and performance.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, operations, and safety, to ensure seamless project execution and successful technology transfer.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in chemical process engineering within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or specialty chemicals sectors.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Proven expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus) and thermodynamic modelling.
• Demonstrated experience in leading HAZOP studies, LOPA, and other risk assessment methodologies .
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a strong ability to work effectively in a remote setting .
