About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Process Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere within the UK. You will play a critical role in designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex chemical processes, focusing on safety, efficiency, and sustainability. You will be instrumental in driving forward process improvements and innovative solutions for our client's diverse projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of new chemical processes, from conceptualization through to detailed engineering, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Optimize existing plant operations to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality, utilizing advanced simulation and modelling tools.
- Conduct thorough process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement mitigation strategies to ensure operational safety and risk reduction.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative remote working culture.
- Troubleshoot process deviations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to maintain operational stability and performance.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, operations, and safety, to ensure seamless project execution and successful technology transfer.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in chemical process engineering within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or specialty chemicals sectors.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Proven expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus) and thermodynamic modelling.
- Demonstrated experience in leading HAZOP studies, LOPA, and other risk assessment methodologies .
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a strong ability to work effectively in a remote setting .
