Senior Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Process Engineer to join their technical team in Bristol, South West England, UK . This role is integral to designing, developing, and optimizing chemical processes for new and existing projects. You will be responsible for process simulations, equipment specification, troubleshooting operational issues, and ensuring processes meet safety, environmental, and economic targets. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, extensive knowledge of chemical engineering principles, and a proven ability to drive innovation and efficiency in process design and operation within a collaborative project environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Conduct process simulations and calculations using industry-standard software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II).
• Specify and select process equipment, including reactors, heat exchangers, pumps, and separation units.
• Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues in manufacturing operations.
• Ensure all process designs comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with project teams, including mechanical, electrical, and control engineers, throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in process engineering within the chemical, petrochemical, or related industries.
• Proficiency with process simulation software and design tools.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat and mass transfer.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
