Senior Process Engineer

Our client seeks a dedicated Senior Process Engineer to contribute to their projects based in Leeds . This role focuses on the design, development, and optimization of chemical and physical processes within the oil and gas sector . You will play a key part in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance of processing facilities. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Perform process simulations and calculations to optimize system performance and energy efficiency.
• Conduct hazard and operability studies (HAZOP) and other risk assessments.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement process improvements to enhance reliability and output.
• Specify process equipment, including pumps, compressors, and heat exchangers.
• Ensure processes comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 7 years of professional experience as a Process Engineer in the oil and gas industry or petrochemicals.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mass transfer principles.
• Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and P&ID development.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
