Senior Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client seeks a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join their established team in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire . This role involves leading the design, development, and optimisation of chemical processes to meet production targets, enhance efficiency, and ensure compliance with stringent safety and environmental standards. You will be responsible for managing key projects, providing technical expertise, and mentoring junior engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of process improvements and new chemical technologies.
• Conduct detailed process hazard analyses (PHAs) and risk assessments.
• Develop and optimize process control strategies to improve efficiency and product quality.
• Manage process-related projects from conception through to commissioning and handover.
• Troubleshoot complex operational problems and provide technical solutions.
• Ensure all designs and operations comply with current safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering .
• A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in process engineering within the chemical industry.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, UniSim) and P&ID development.
• Strong understanding of process safety, including HAZOP and LOPA.
• Demonstrated experience in project management and leading technical teams.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
