Senior Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Process Engineer to join their operational team in Derby . This vital role involves optimizing and troubleshooting process operations for upstream and midstream Oil & Gas facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient, safe, and environmentally compliant operations, contributing to the overall performance and profitability of the assets. This position requires a strong technical background in process engineering and the ability to apply innovative solutions to complex operational challenges within a project-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize process designs for new facilities and modifications to existing ones.
• Conduct process simulations and calculations to ensure efficient and safe operation.
• Troubleshoot operational issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Develop and update Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Provide technical support to operations, maintenance, and project teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Process Engineer within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mass transfer principles.
• Experience with HAZOP studies and risk assessments.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for effective collaboration in Derby .
