Senior Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join their established team in Southampton , contributing to critical projects within the Oil & Gas industry . This role is instrumental in the design, development, and optimization of chemical, physical, and biological processes. You will apply your extensive knowledge to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance across various facilities. Working closely with project managers and other engineering disciplines, you will play a key part in delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for challenging energy sector requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Conduct process simulations and calculations to determine equipment specifications and operational parameters.
• Ensure all process designs adhere to stringent safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex process issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and control engineers, to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and proposals for new projects and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of professional experience as a Process Engineer, with significant exposure to the Oil & Gas sector.
• Proven ability to use process simulation software (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and mass transfer principles.
• Excellent analytical skills and experience with process hazard analysis (PHA) techniques.
• Effective communication and teamwork capabilities in a project-driven environment.
