Senior Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a leading entity in the Oil & Gas sector, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join their established team in Cardiff, Wales . This role is critical for designing, developing, and optimizing the processes that underpin our upstream and downstream operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance of our facilities. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for new and existing facilities.
• Conduct process design calculations, simulations, and equipment sizing for various unit operations.
• Perform process safety analyses , including HAZOP studies, and implement recommendations to mitigate risks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, optimizing plant performance and energy efficiency.
• Collaborate with project engineering teams, construction, and operations personnel to ensure successful project execution.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and industry best practices in process engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience as a Process Engineer in the Oil & Gas or chemical industries.
• Strong proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II) and CFD analysis .
• In-depth knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat and mass transfer principles.
• Experience with process safety management (PSM) and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
