About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior Process Engineer to join their innovative team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is integral to the design, development, and optimization of chemical and industrial processes within the energy sector. You will be responsible for ensuring processes are safe, efficient, environmentally compliant, and economically viable. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process design, simulation, and troubleshooting, contributing significantly to project success and operational excellence. Working within a collaborative environment, you will leverage your expertise to drive continuous improvement and innovation in process engineering for projects in Staffordshire and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new process flows, P&IDs, and equipment specifications for energy-related projects.
- Conduct process simulations and modeling using software such as Aspen HYSYS or UniSim.
- Optimize existing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance safety.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex process issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Ensure processes comply with environmental regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including project management, mechanical, and control engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering , preferably within the energy or chemical processing industries.
- Proficiency in process simulation software and P&ID development tools.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mass transfer principles.
- Experience with process safety studies (e.g., HAZOP) is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
