About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a highly competent Senior Process Safety Engineer to join their team, working remotely from anywhere in the UK. This critical role focuses on ensuring the highest standards of safety in all Oil & Gas operations. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust process safety management systems, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) systems and procedures.
- Conduct and lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and SIL assessments for new and existing facilities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., HSE LOPAs).
- Develop and deliver process safety training programs to relevant personnel.
- Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Oversee the Management of Change (MOC) process to ensure safety implications are thoroughly reviewed before implementation.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of emergency response plans related to process safety events.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in process safety engineering , specifically within the Oil & Gas industry or related chemical processing sectors.
- Strong understanding of hazard identification and risk assessment techniques (HAZOP, LOPA, SIL).
- In-depth knowledge of process safety regulations and best practices.
- Experience in developing and implementing PSM programs.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
