About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior Process Safety Engineer to enhance safety standards across their operations in Cardiff . This vital role focuses on identifying, assessing, and mitigating process-related hazards within the energy sector. You will lead safety studies, develop robust safety management systems, and ensure compliance with stringent regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) systems and procedures.
- Perform risk assessments and ensure that safety measures are effectively implemented and monitored.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices for process safety .
- Provide expert advice and training on process safety principles to engineering and operational teams.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in process safety engineering within the energy or chemical industries.
- In-depth knowledge of PHA methodologies and risk assessment techniques.
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and standards (e.g., COMAH).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
