About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Process Safety Engineer to join their expanding, fully remote team. This role is dedicated to safeguarding personnel, assets, and the environment by ensuring the highest standards of process safety are embedded within the organization's operations. You will lead and execute critical safety studies, develop safety management systems, and promote a strong safety culture across all projects. Working from home, you will collaborate with engineers and management globally, applying your expertise to identify, assess, and mitigate process-related risks effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies and other process hazard analyses (PHAs).
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust process safety management (PSM) systems.
- Conduct quantitative risk assessments (QRAs) and consequence modeling.
- Develop safety cases and ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards.
- Investigate process safety incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Promote a strong safety culture through training, awareness programs, and leadership engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in process safety engineering , preferably in the oil and gas or chemical industries.
- In-depth knowledge of PSM elements and risk assessment methodologies.
- Experience with HAZOP facilitation and other PHA techniques.
- Familiarity with safety-critical equipment design and management.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, essential for a remote role.
