About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Process Safety Engineer to join their globally distributed, fully remote team. This role is paramount in ensuring the safety and integrity of our client's operations by developing, implementing, and overseeing robust process safety management systems. You will be instrumental in identifying, assessing, and mitigating process-related hazards across all stages of the project lifecycle, contributing to a world-class safety culture from your home office. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and SIL assessments.
- Develop and implement process safety procedures, standards, and guidelines in compliance with international regulations.
- Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis (RCA), and ensure implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Manage the Mechanical Integrity (MI) program for critical process equipment and safety systems.
- Provide expert advice on process safety aspects during the design, construction, and operation phases of projects.
- Develop and deliver process safety training programs to relevant personnel across the organization.
- Stay abreast of evolving process safety best practices, technologies, and regulatory changes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related safety-focused discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in process safety engineering , with a strong background in the oil, gas, or petrochemical industries.
- In-depth knowledge of PHA methodologies, risk assessment techniques, and safety management systems (e.g., OSHA PSM, EPA RMP).
- Proven experience in managing mechanical integrity programs and incident investigations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, vital for effective remote collaboration and leadership.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CCPSC) are highly desirable.
