About the Role
Our client is looking for a proactive and experienced Senior Process Safety Engineer to join their esteemed team based in Manchester . This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the safety integrity of our client's operational facilities within the oil and gas industry . You will be responsible for implementing and overseeing robust process safety management systems, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of hazard identification and risk mitigation strategies, playing a key role in preventing incidents and ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel in the Greater Manchester area.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
- Conduct thorough Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
- Oversee the Mechanical Integrity program, ensuring critical equipment is maintained and inspected appropriately.
- Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide expert advice on process safety requirements for new projects and modifications to existing facilities.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in process safety engineering within the oil and gas sector .
- In-depth knowledge of process safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA PSM, COMAH).
- Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and hazard identification techniques.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams in Manchester .
