Senior Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior Process Safety Engineer to enhance safety standards across their operations in Belfast . This vital role focuses on identifying, assessing, and mitigating process-related hazards within the oil and gas facilities. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust process safety management systems, ensuring compliance with stringent safety regulations and promoting a strong safety culture. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, LOPA, and risk assessments.
• Develop, implement, and manage process safety programs and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements for process safety.
• Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance and training on process safety principles to operational and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience (5+ years) in process safety engineering, preferably within the oil and gas industry .
• Thorough knowledge of process safety management (PSM) principles and standards.
• Experience with hazard identification and risk assessment methodologies.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to safety excellence.
