Senior Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Process Safety Engineer to join their dedicated team in Reading . This critical role focuses on ensuring the highest standards of safety across all chemical processes and operations. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive risk assessments, developing safety protocols, and leading initiatives to prevent accidents and ensure regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA.
• Develop and implement robust process safety management (PSM) systems and procedures.
• Perform safety reviews for new and modified processes, equipment, and facilities.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on process safety regulations and best practices.
• Develop and deliver process safety training programs to relevant personnel.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process safety engineering, preferably in the chemical or petrochemical industry.
• In-depth knowledge of process safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA, COMAH).
• Proven experience conducting various types of hazard identification studies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead safety reviews and influence stakeholders at all levels.
