Senior Process Safety Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly qualified Senior Process Safety Engineer to bolster their safety engineering team in Leeds . This critical role will ensure the highest standards of process safety are maintained across all operational activities, focusing on risk mitigation and compliance. You will lead safety initiatives, conduct comprehensive risk assessments, and contribute to a robust safety culture. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive process safety management (PSM) programs.
• Conduct detailed safety reviews, including HAZOP, LOPA, and risk assessments for new and existing processes.
• Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and industry standards.
• Provide expert guidance and training on process safety principles to engineering and operations staff.
• Oversee the management of change (MOC) process for all safety-critical modifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience specifically in process safety engineering.
• Proven expertise in conducting various types of risk assessments and safety studies.
• Strong knowledge of international safety standards and best practices (e.g., OSHA PSM, Seveso Directive).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Professional certifications in safety (e.g., CSP, IOSH) are highly desirable.
