Senior Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Safety Engineer to join their dedicated team. This role is crucial for ensuring the highest standards of safety are maintained across all operational aspects within the Oil & Gas industry . You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing robust process safety management systems, contributing to a culture of zero harm. This hybrid position allows for a blend of remote work and on-site collaboration, offering flexibility while ensuring strong team cohesion and project oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
• Conduct and lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies.
• Develop and review safety-critical equipment (SCE) specifications and maintenance procedures.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and training on process safety principles to engineers and operational staff.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process safety within the Oil & Gas or petrochemical sectors.
• In-depth knowledge of PSM elements, risk assessment methodologies, and safety design principles.
• Experience with safety software and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration in a hybrid environment .
