Senior Procurement Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Senior Procurement Manager to lead their procurement function from their office in Bristol . This leadership role is responsible for developing and implementing robust procurement strategies, managing a team of procurement professionals, and driving significant cost savings and efficiencies across all spend categories. You will play a critical role in shaping the company's supply chain and supplier relationships, ensuring alignment with business objectives and maintaining the highest standards of ethical sourcing. This position requires strong leadership acumen, exceptional negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of complex procurement operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive procurement strategies that align with organizational goals and deliver measurable cost savings.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
• Manage key supplier relationships, negotiate complex contracts, and ensure compliance with service level agreements and performance metrics.
• Conduct thorough market analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction, innovation, and risk mitigation.
• Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, tendering, contract award, and supplier performance management.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and department heads to understand strategic requirements and translate them into effective procurement plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; CIPS qualification or MBA is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain management, with at least 4 years in a management or leadership role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale procurement projects and achieving significant cost savings.
• Exceptional negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, risk management, and contract law.
• Experience with procurement systems and analytics tools.
