This position involves strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and ensuring value for money across a range of expenditure. Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and category management for assigned areas of spend.
- Manage key supplier relationships, conducting regular performance reviews and fostering partnerships.
- Negotiate favourable terms and conditions for contracts, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
- Analyse market trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction and service improvement.
- Oversee the purchasing process, ensuring adherence to procurement policies and procedures.
- Mentor and guide junior members of the procurement team.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in a procurement or purchasing role, with a focus on strategic activities.
- Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation and supplier management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Proficiency in procurement software and data analysis tools.
- Professional qualification such as CIPS is highly desirable.
