About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to join their vital team in Randburg, focusing on the energy sector. This role is crucial for managing the sourcing and acquisition of goods and services essential for the company's operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. You will play a key part in developing procurement strategies, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships to support the company's strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for key categories of goods and services within the energy sector.
- Conduct market research, supplier identification, and supplier performance evaluations.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing, terms, and conditions for contracts.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from requisitions to purchase order closure.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., engineering, finance, operations) to understand their needs and ensure alignment.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the energy or heavy industrial sectors.
- Proven experience in contract negotiation, supplier management, and strategic sourcing.
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, supply chain management, and financial analysis.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems.
