Senior Product Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client seeks a proactive and innovative Senior Product Design Engineer to join their established team in Brighton . This role is integral to the development of new consumer products, from initial concept generation through to market-ready solutions. You will leverage your expertise in mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes to create high-quality, user-centric products. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of new mechanical products from concept to production.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and prototypes using CAD software .
• Conduct thorough design analysis, including feasibility studies, material selection, and tolerance stack-ups.
• Collaborate with industrial designers, marketing, and manufacturing teams to ensure product success.
• Develop and execute validation and testing plans to confirm product performance and reliability.
• Identify and implement design improvements for cost reduction and enhanced user experience.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in product design and development , preferably for consumer goods.
• Expertise in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and 3D printing technologies.
• Strong understanding of injection molding, die casting, and other mass production techniques.
• Excellent aesthetic sense and a passion for user-centered design.
• Effective communication and project management skills.
