About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Production Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is a crucial role focused on optimizing manufacturing processes, driving efficiency, and implementing best practices across all production lines. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and a proven track record of success in improving operational performance. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK while contributing significantly to our client's operational excellence. You will collaborate with various site-based teams and stakeholders, leveraging digital communication tools to ensure seamless project execution and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and quality.
- Develop and implement strategies for process optimization, waste reduction, and lean manufacturing adoption.
- Lead and manage production improvement projects from conception through to successful implementation, ensuring objectives are met on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality, and R&D, to ensure seamless integration of new processes and technologies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and production staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and problem-solving.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports on production efficiency and project progress for senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a production engineering or manufacturing process improvement role.
- Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing techniques, Six Sigma methodologies, and process simulation tools.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead diverse teams in a remote setting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
