Senior Production Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive Senior Production Engineer to join their manufacturing facility in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, UK . This role is critical for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the production process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met or exceeded. You will lead projects aimed at improving production methodologies, reducing costs, and implementing new technologies. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of manufacturing operations to drive continuous improvement within a demanding industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize production processes to meet output targets and quality standards.
• Develop and implement strategies for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
• Oversee the introduction of new products or process changes into the production line.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
• Analyze production data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in the Wolverhampton plant.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in production or manufacturing engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing technologies and production planning.
• Proficiency in Lean manufacturing principles and process optimization techniques.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Experience with quality control systems and statistical process control (SPC).
