Senior Project Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Engineer to lead and manage key projects within the Oil & Gas sector, based in Derby, Derbyshire, UK . This role demands exceptional organizational and technical skills to ensure the successful delivery of projects from conception through to completion, adhering to scope, budget, and timeline constraints. The successful candidate will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage stakeholders, and mitigate project risks. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, execution, and close-out of engineering projects.
• Develop project plans, budgets, and schedules, and monitor progress closely.
• Manage project resources, including personnel and contractors.
• Identify and assess project risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Ensure all project activities comply with relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
• Communicate project status and key updates to senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical) or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in project engineering, with a significant portion within the Oil & Gas industry .
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment, balancing on-site and remote responsibilities in Derby .
