About the Role
Our client requires a seasoned Senior Project Manager with expertise in the construction sector to join their expanding team in Cardiff . This role is crucial for overseeing the successful planning, execution, and completion of major construction projects. You will be responsible for managing project budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring that all projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality and safety. This position demands strong leadership skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to navigate the complexities of construction project management, working closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of construction projects, from initial feasibility studies to final handover.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, budget creation, resource allocation, and scheduling.
- Manage and coordinate all site activities, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project milestones are met.
- Implement rigorous health and safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant building regulations and standards.
- Monitor project finances closely, manage variations, and control costs to ensure profitability.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders, providing regular progress updates.
Requirements
- Extensive experience (7+ years) as a Project Manager within the construction industry .
- Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects from pre-construction to completion.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Strong contract management and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in construction project management software (e.g., Asta Powerproject, Procore).
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline; Professional qualification (e.g., CIOB, RICS) is advantageous.
