About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly capable Senior Project Manager to lead critical projects within the defence sector in Portsmouth . This role requires a seasoned professional adept at managing complex, high-stakes projects with stringent regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects, ensuring adherence to security protocols, quality standards, and contractual obligations. This is a pivotal role for an individual looking to make a significant impact in a vital industry, working within a secure and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full project lifecycle for defence-related projects, from initiation through to closure.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans , resource allocation, risk assessments, and budgets.
- Ensure strict adherence to all security protocols, quality standards, and contractual requirements relevant to the defence industry.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, military personnel, and supply chain partners.
- Oversee project teams, providing leadership, direction, and fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
- Conduct regular progress reviews and provide comprehensive status reports to senior management and clients.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a Project Manager , with a proven track record in the defence sector or a highly regulated industry.
- In-depth knowledge of defence procurement processes and project management methodologies (e.g., MoD standards).
- Excellent understanding of risk management and quality assurance practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; PMP or equivalent certification is advantageous.
