Senior Project Manager - Defence

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager with a background in the Defence sector to lead critical projects based in Plymouth . You will be responsible for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex defence-related programs, ensuring adherence to stringent security, quality, and regulatory standards. This role requires exceptional leadership, strategic foresight, and a deep understanding of the defence industry's unique challenges and requirements. You will manage cross-functional teams, key stakeholders, and supply chains to achieve project objectives and contribute to national security initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end management of major defence projects from initiation to completion.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Ensure strict compliance with defence industry regulations, security protocols, and quality standards.
• Manage and motivate multi-disciplinary project teams, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
• Engage effectively with government clients, military stakeholders, and key industry partners.
• Oversee procurement processes and manage relationships with defence contractors and suppliers.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a Project Manager within the Defence industry.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex defence projects.
• In-depth knowledge of defence procurement processes, security requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain relevant security clearances.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or management field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
