Senior Project Manager - Energy Infrastructure

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead significant energy infrastructure projects, based from their Derby office. This role is pivotal in managing all phases of project execution, from conception and planning through to completion and handover, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for steering complex projects within the oil and gas and potentially renewable energy sectors, coordinating diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve ambitious goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, execution, and closing of energy infrastructure projects.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
• Manage project risks, issues, and changes, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
• Lead and motivate multi-disciplinary project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and other external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or a related technical field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive project management experience, with a substantial portion within the energy sector (oil & gas , power generation, renewables).
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, multi-million pound projects.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2).
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, managing teams and projects in the Derby region and beyond.
