About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly capable Senior Project Manager with a strong background in engineering projects to join their team in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK . This role involves overseeing complex engineering initiatives from conception through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will manage diverse teams of engineers, technicians, and contractors, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of engineering principles and a proven track record of successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and closure of significant engineering projects , ensuring all objectives are met.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, risk assessment, and budget management.
- Manage engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Oversee the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases of engineering projects.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project performance, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in project management , with a significant focus on engineering projects .
- Proven experience managing large-scale industrial, manufacturing, or infrastructure engineering projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices relevant to the projects managed.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and relevant engineering design tools.
- A relevant engineering degree (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) and professional qualifications like PMP or PRINCE2 are essential.
