Senior Project Manager - Higher Education

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee significant projects within the Higher Education sector in Oxford . This role involves managing a range of initiatives, from academic program development and research support to infrastructure improvements and digital learning enhancements. You will work closely with faculty, administrative staff, and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the specific needs of the academic community. The successful candidate will require excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills to navigate the unique environment of a prestigious university.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and successful completion of projects within the higher education setting.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, defining scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Manage relationships with diverse stakeholders, including academic staff, students, and external partners.
• Ensure projects align with the strategic objectives and policies of the institution.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Manage project budgets and ensure financial accountability and reporting.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management , preferably within the higher education or public sector.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, from conception to completion.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with IT projects, infrastructure development, or curriculum reform is advantageous.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; PMP or PRINCE2 certification is desirable.
