About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver complex maritime projects in and around the vibrant port city of Plymouth, Devon . This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of significant marine infrastructure development and vessel-related projects, from initial planning and design through to construction and commissioning. You will be responsible for managing budgets, timelines, resources, and ensuring strict adherence to safety and environmental regulations within the maritime sector. This is a unique opportunity to manage high-profile projects in a key naval and commercial hub, working within a hybrid model that blends on-site presence with remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of major maritime projects, including infrastructure and vessel programs.
- Develop detailed project plans, risk assessments, and financial forecasts.
- Oversee procurement, contract negotiation, and management of suppliers and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant maritime regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.
- Lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including governmental bodies, clients, and internal management.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of proven experience as a Project Manager , with a substantial focus on maritime or marine-related projects.
- Strong understanding of naval architecture, shipbuilding, port infrastructure, or related fields.
- Experience managing projects with significant budgets and complex logistical challenges.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline; relevant professional certifications are highly desirable.
