About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Property Lawyer to lead their dedicated property law team in Portsmouth . This role is ideal for an experienced professional looking to manage complex commercial and residential property transactions, provide expert legal guidance, and oversee a team of legal professionals. You will be instrumental in handling all aspects of property law, from acquisitions and disposals to leases and development projects, ensuring clients receive the highest standard of service. Key Responsibilities

• Manage a high-value caseload of commercial and residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, and leases.
• Provide strategic legal advice on property development, planning law, and land use.
• Oversee the work of junior property lawyers and legal assistants, providing guidance and support.
• Conduct thorough due diligence on property portfolios and advise on associated risks.
• Negotiate terms and draft complex legal documentation related to property law.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of property legislation and market trends in Portsmouth and surrounding areas.

Requirements

• A qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 7 years' PQE in property law .
• Proven expertise in handling complex commercial and residential property transactions.
• Strong understanding of land law, landlord and tenant legislation, and development agreements.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and client management skills.
• Experience in managing a legal team or supervising junior staff.
• Admission to the roll of solicitors in England and Wales.
