About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Property Surveyor to join their growing team in Portsmouth . This role requires a professional with a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of building structures, and excellent report-writing capabilities. You will be responsible for conducting detailed building surveys, identifying defects, providing expert advice on maintenance and repair, and managing a caseload of diverse property types. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the firm's reputation for delivering accurate and reliable surveying services to clients across the region, working collaboratively within a supportive professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive surveys of residential and commercial properties, assessing structural integrity and identifying potential issues.
- Prepare detailed and accurate survey reports , including schedules of condition, dilapidations, and building surveys.
- Provide expert advice on property maintenance, repair, and renovation projects to clients.
- Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Manage a diverse portfolio of surveying projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building regulations, health and safety standards, and professional codes of conduct.
Requirements
- Qualified Chartered Surveyor (MRICS or FRICS) or equivalent professional qualification.
- A minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience in property surveying.
- Proficiency in conducting various types of property surveys, including structural, boundary, and condition surveys.
- Excellent report-writing skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex technical information.
- Strong understanding of building pathology, construction methods, and relevant legislation.
- Experience working within the Portsmouth or South Coast property market is beneficial.
