Senior Pupil Support Officer St Crispin's School Salary: £34,452 - £40,501 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional) Hours: 30 per week, 39 weeks sessional Working pattern for position is Monday - Thursdays 8.30am - 3.35pm, Fridays 8.25am - 1.20pm. St Crispin's is a special school for primary and secondary age pupils. The school meets the needs of learners with complex, long term additional support needs who require a significantly modified learning environment. The needs of learners are primarily associated with intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Each class has a maximum of 6 learners. We moved into our new building in Burdiehouse in early 2022. Facilities include 13 classrooms, Art, Music, Home Economics classrooms, a PE hall and swimming pool. We also benefit from sensory and softplay rooms. The Senior Pupil Support Officer role will contribute to the training, mentoring, and induction of new support staff. Time will be assigned to these duties, but the role will also involve being in classes providing direct support to pupils and working as part of class teams. It is desirable that applicants should have experience working with children with learning disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder and within a special school setting. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
