Senior QA Automation Engineer - Software Testing

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and driven Senior QA Automation Engineer to join their quality assurance team in Cambridge . You will be instrumental in developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and executing comprehensive test strategies to ensure the highest quality of their software products. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, enabling you to balance focused individual work with collaborative team sessions. You will work closely with development and product teams to identify, document, and advocate for the resolution of defects, contributing directly to product excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test scripts and frameworks for web and mobile applications.
• Execute functional, regression, and performance tests to identify defects and ensure product quality.
• Collaborate with developers to understand software design and testability.
• Implement and manage CI/CD integration for automated testing processes.
• Analyze test results, generate detailed reports, and track defects through their lifecycle.
• Champion quality best practices and advocate for continuous improvement in testing methodologies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance , with a strong focus on test automation.
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for automation (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).
• Experience with automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Playwright).
• Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman) and performance testing tools is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment.
