About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and skilled Senior QA Automation Engineer to join their quality assurance team in Plymouth . This role is essential for ensuring the quality and reliability of our client's software products through the design and implementation of automated testing frameworks. You will work closely with development teams to integrate testing seamlessly into the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate is passionate about quality, possesses strong technical skills in automation, and is eager to contribute to a high-performing team within our Plymouth -based operations. This is a primarily office-based role with potential for occasional hybrid work.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for web and mobile applications.
- Execute automated test suites and analyze test results to identify defects.
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand requirements and define test strategies.
- Implement and manage test environments and test data.
- Identify areas for test automation improvements and implement efficient testing solutions.
- Document test plans, test cases, and defect reports clearly and concisely.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance and test automation.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in automation (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).
- Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, and defect tracking.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD practices.
