About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic, remote-first team. This pivotal role will involve managing all costs relating to construction projects, from initial calculations to final figures, ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on time. You will play a crucial part in the financial success of numerous projects, working closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors across the UK. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit detailed cost estimates and tenders for new projects.
- Manage and control project budgets, tracking expenditure and forecasting costs accurately.
- Administer contracts, including variations, claims, and final account settlements.
- Conduct site visits and valuations to assess progress and authorize payments.
- Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to secure favourable terms and pricing.
- Provide expert advice on procurement strategies and contract conditions to project stakeholders.
Requirements
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Significant experience (e.g., 7+ years) in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in cost management software and standard contract forms (e.g., JCT, NEC).
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects remotely.
